P. 11
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Provincial People’s Committees for their
advice and support, and to the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development (now
the Department of Agriculture and Environment) in Dong Thap and Son La provinces for
their roles as focal departments in co-leading and facilitating engagement activities at the
provincial level. We also sincerely thank all representatives from various departments and
stakeholders in the provinces for their active participation in the activities. Their significant
contributions and invaluable insights were essential for fostering this engagement work
to support the implementation of the National Action Plan for Transparent, Responsible,
and Sustainable Food System Transformation by 2030 (NAP-FST) at sub-national levels.
We are also deeply grateful to the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry
of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment),
which serves as the national focal agency for the process. Their steadfast support
in enabling the procedures with provincial authorities was crucial to the sub-national
process.
We highly appreciate the enthusiastic involvement of strategic partners from the CGIAR
Initiative on Sustainable Healthy Diets through Food Systems Transformation (SHiFT)
(2022-2024) and the CGIAR Better Diets and Nutrition Science Program (BDN) (2025-
2030) as co-leading organizations in the process, including the Vietnam Academy of
Agricultural Sciences (VAAS), Institute of Strategy and Policy on Agricu lture and
Environment (ISPAE), and the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN). We are thankful to
their dedication to leading sessions under the sub-national process, as well as for acting
as the BDN focal points for collaboration with provincial authorities in Dong Thap and
Son La.
Our sincere gratitude goes to the facilitators, note-takers, and supporters from Centre for
Agrarian Systems Research and Development (CASRAD).
We gratefully acknowledge Glenn Hyman (Consultant Editor to the Alliance of Bioversity
International and CIAT’s Science Writing Service) for copy editing of these guidelines.
