food environments, consumer behavior, and food system outcomes for nutrition and
          health, economic development and environment. Information in the profile helps provincial
          authorities to assess local food systems comprehensively. They can prioritize actions to
          effectively navigate food systems transformation, either by integrating existing programs
          and projects or by developing novel initiatives. The profile serves as a reliable source
          of information for stakeholders, promoting evidence-based decision-making processes
          and contributing to implementation  of the NAP-FST. Furthermore, it establishes  the
          foundation for local authorities to develop provincial socio-economic development plans
          aimed at achieving food and nutrition security.

          To  convey  information  effectively,  the  food  system  profile-a  brief  assessment  using
          infographics and key indicators to summarize data, trends and insights for each food
          system element-is presented as a concise document.


          Experts develop the food system profile based on available data from national and sub-
          national sources (see Annex 1 for datasets and reports available at the national and
          sub-national levels).



                                      HIGHLIGHTS FOR USERS
                                        A Food System Profile


            -   Assists local/province authorities and stakeholders in understanding the current
               state of the provincial food system by highlighting key features, achievements,
               trends and challenges. The profile helps the provincial authorities assess the
               local food system in a holistic manner, setting strategic priorities and planning
               actions to effectively transform it, either by integrating existing programs or plans
               or by developing new focused ones for future implementation.

            -   Is  a visual document summarizing  existing data, trends, and insights and
               incorporating visually engaging infographics.
            -   Supports provincial authorities, research institutions, civil society organizations,
               etc. in decision-making process for implementing the NAP-FST at local levels.
