P. 11
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Provincial People’s Committees for their valuable
guidance and unwavering support. We are especially thankful to the Departments of
Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Departments of Agriculture and Environment)
in Dong Thap and Son La provinces for their pivotal roles as focal departments in co-
leading and facilitating engagement activities at the provincial level.
We sincerely thank all representatives from the various departments and local stakeholders
whose active participation and meaningful contributions were vital to advancing this
engagement process. Their insights were instrumental in supporting the implementation
of the National Action Plan for Transparent, Responsible, and Sustainable Food System
Transformation by 2030 (NAP-FST) at the sub-national levels.
We also express deep appreciation to the International Cooperation Department of
the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, now the Ministry of Agriculture and
Environment, for serving as the national focal agency for the process. Their steadfast
support in coordinating with provincial authorities was essential to the success of this
sub-national process.
We highly appreciate the enthusiastic involvement of strategic partners from the CGIAR
Initiative on Sustainable Healthy Diets through Food Systems Transformation (SHiFT)
(2022-2024) and the CGIAR Better Diets and Nutrition Science Program (BDN) (2025-
2030) as co-leading organizations in the process, including the Vietnam Academy of
Agricultural Sciences, Institute of Strategy and Policy on Agriculture and Environment,
and the National Institute of Nutrition. We are thankful to their dedication to leading
sessions under the sub-national process, as well as for acting as the BDN focal points
for collaboration with provincial authorities in Dong Thap and Son La.
Our sincere thanks also go to the facilitators, note-takers, and supporters for their
essential role in organizing and documenting the process.
Lastly, we gratefully acknowledge Glenn Hyman, Consultant Editor and CIAT’s Science
Writing Service, and Olga Spellman, Science Writer & Editor at Bioversity International,
for their careful copy editing of these guidelines.
