GUIDELINES AND QUESTIONS FOR GROUP DISCUSSION
Scoring the list of indicators for the provincial food systems

          General information

The allocated time for group discussion is 60 minutes. After the discussion, each group
will have 5-10 minutes to present the discussion results.

Each group will discuss in a separate meeting room. Nameplates can be placed on the
tables to clarify the topic of each group discussion and help guide members’ participation.

Before the plenary technical meeting day:

                - Local officials and stakeholders are grouped into four main sectors (Agriculture,
Socio-Economics and Trade, Health and Nutrition, Resource and Environment)
based on their expertise to discuss the pre-identified indicators and assign scores.
The list of members for each discussion group should be shared with the focal
agency for feedback and any necessary adjustments.

                - The number of discussion groups depends on the number of indicators identified
in the previous steps. This ensures each group can effectively discuss a
manageable number of indicators. If the list of indicators is extensive, multiple
rounds of discussion may be held.

                - Each group should have one facilitator and one note-taker.

                - Indicators should be organized according to each group members’ respective
                 sectors.

On the plenary technical meeting day: Discussion on indicators and assigning scores

                - Provide instructions to participants.

                - Inform participants that they have 60 minutes for scoring and 30 minutes for
                 discussion on indicators.

                - Local officials and stakeholders should be grouped into four main sectors
(Agriculture, Socio-Economics and Trade, Health and Nutrition, Resource and
Environment) to discuss in their groups. Participants are tasked with reviewing
all indicators to ensure they reflect the relevant food system elements, proposing
changes, adjustments, or additions of new indicators and providing justifications
                 for their suggestions.

                - They will then assign scores individually. Please note that scores should be
determined by each participant, not by the group.
