• A 20-minute feedback session follows, where participants share comments
on the criteria, scoring, and additional indicators. Notetakers records all
                 recommendations for refinement (Annex 2)

3.4. Score and select priority food systems issues in the province

Step 4 involves the scoring and selection of priority food systems issues in the province.
Results of Step 2 and Step 3 are used as inputs for this step. The scoring is carried out
          as follows.

3.4.1. Compiling and revising the list of food systems issues

The food systems issues identified by the discussion groups were compiled to create
the final list. Then, the experts within the interdisciplinary group will discuss to compile
and revise the list of food systems issues, following the principles (see Annex 3 for the
          template):

             • The identified issues at Step 2 are categorized into four main groups following the
Food System framework in Figure 1, including issues regarding supply chains,
issues regarding food environment and consumer behavior, issues regarding
food systems outcomes, and intersectoral and whole-system issues.

             • Within each group, similar issues are combined to refine the list and create new,
                 consolidated issues.

             • Intersectoral and whole-system issues are added to the final list first, followed by
                 those focusing on specific components

             • If the list remains too large, additional merging continues, grouping issues with
                 shared affected populations or outcomes

             • The scoring-ready issues list should be limited to a maximum of 15 food system
issues for individual scoring by participants.

3.4.2. Individual scoring of food system issues

             • The scoring-ready list of food systems issues is shown on the screen or printed out.

             • Participants are provided with individual scoring sheets in various formats-online
Excel file or hard copies—based on Annex 3. Facilitators must ensure that the
group members have been received the paper scoring sheet or access to the
                 online file.
