3.6. Identify activities and resources to address selected priority food
systems issues
Step 6 focuses on defining key actions and available resources to address selected food
systems issues, following these guidelines:
• The facilitator guides the group discussion for about 30 minutes using key
questions: (1) What activities, programs, projects, or ideas should be implemented
to address the local prioritized food system issues?; (2) What resources are
currently available to support these initiatives?; (3) If resources are lacking, what
strategies or ideas can be used to mobilize resources (e.g., new investments,
integration of different programs)?; and (4) Which agencies or units can collaborate
to mobilize resources?
• Similar to Step 5, the groups can determine to focus on only one selected food
systems issues or all three food systems issues selected in Step 4. The World
Café format can also be used in the former case.
