6. HOW TO DEVELOP A FOOD SYSTEM PROFILE?
This food system profile draws on insights and experiences gained from developing
research along a rural-urban transect in Northern Vietnam, in previous work carried out
by the CGIAR Collaborative Research Program on Agriculture for Nutrition and Health
(A4NH) (Huynh, 2019; Huynh et al., 2021). It also incorporates insights and experiences
from Intervention Package 8: Food systems transformation for more nutritious and
healthy diets under the ASEAN-CGIAR Innovate for Food Regional Program. This
package includes a food system dashboard based on a methodological framework
outlined for developing participatory food system country profiles for low- and middle-
income countries (Béné et al., 2022).
The guidelines involve seven steps to develop a food system profile (Figure 2).
