1.2. How did Vietnam carry out national and regional food systems dialogues
          to co-design national pathways on food systems transformation?

          Vietnam carried out multi-level food systems dialogues (Figure 2)—including the 1st
          National Dialogue (15 June 2021); the Subnational Dialogues in Central Vietnam (17
          June 2021), Northern Vietnam (22 June 2021) and Mekong River Delta (02 July 2021);
          and the 2nd National Dialogue (16 July 2021)—to gather information from different actors
          of various levels and sectors. They co-designed the national pathways on food systems
          transformation. In parallel with the national and regional dialogues, CGIAR convened
          the CGIAR Independent Dialogue in July 2021, facilitating conversations between
          CGIAR and partners to address and prioritize needs identified by national partners and
          policy makers together.

          by the central government through Decision 300/QD-TTg, dated March 28, 2023. The
          Plan positions the transformation of the food system as being an interdisciplinary task,
          necessitating the participation and collaboration of actors from both the public and private
          sectors across the entire food system.

          The food system transformation must align with advancing agroecology, incorporating
          diverse societal and cultural values, enhancing the competitiveness of agri-food actors,
          including smallholders, strengthening resilience to shocks, elevating product reputation,
          and fostering well-coordinated and transparent supply chains. The transformation seeks
