Curators
A curator is the host of the dialogue meeting, presiding over the event activities including
welcoming participants, introducing high-level guests and key speakers, and describing
the purpose of the dialogue. The curator will subsequently summarize the outcomes
from the different discussion groups.
Facilitators
A facilitator will foster group discussions, helping the participants to understand
discussion topics and make sure that they have opportunities to contribute meaningfully
to the dialogue and have their perspectives listened to.
Notetakers
A notetaker will support the facilitator to take notes during the group discussions and help
summarize outcomes of the discussions for the facilitator and curator.
Participants
Participants of the dialogues will include:
• Members of the PWG;
• Other representatives from provincial departments and relevant stakeholders,
including provincial research institutes, farmer unions, women and youth unions, etc;
• Practitioners of food systems from cooperatives, enterprises and communities;
• Other stakeholders involved in food supply chains, from production to distribution,
processing, retail, marketing, consumption, and disposal of agri-food products.
2.3. A step-by-step guide for organizers
2.3.1 Before the dialogues
Inception meeting
To initiate the provincial implementation process, inception meetings could be organized.
The meeting will help engage with the leaders of relevant departments at the provincial
level, to:
o Introduce key food systems concepts including food systems transformation,
sustainable healthy diets, as well as information about the FST at the global
and national levels (NAP-FST).
o Introduce, discuss, and plan for the development of Provincial NAP-FST
process with: (i) suggested tasks, (ii) time plan, (iii) the establishment of the
Provincial Inter-sectoral Working Group (PWG).
