the overall agenda of dialogue sessions for food systems process, (ii) apply guidelines
for organizing the provincial food systems dialogue, (iv) prepare materials for each
dialogue sessions, and (iv) summarize the outcomes of the dialogues to help prepare
the provincial implementation plan.
At the sub-national level, under the leadership of the PPC, the focal point organization
(e.g., Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment) will play key roles in
organizing the sub-national food system dialogues that support the development of
the Provincial Implementation Plan (PIP). The establishment of a Provincial Inter-
Sectoral Working Group (PWG) is crucial to serve as the convening body. The PWG
should include representatives from the focal point organization and other key provincial
departments (see Annex 1 for a suggested list). The PWG will: (i) oversee administrative
processes and logistics, gather feedback and information from diverse provincial sectors
and exchange with the NWG, (ii) organize and facilitate dialogue sessions, as well as
provide input and revise data for the entire food systems process at sub-national levels,
including food system profiles, prioritization of food system issues and resources, and
developing PIP. 2
The members of PWG could play the following roles, as adapted from the Reference
Manual for Convenors of Food Systems Summit Dialogues by UNFSS (2021).
