Roles Guidance
Curators • Clarify and coordinate: Serve as the initial focal points for
participants, clearly communicate the Dialogue’s purpose.
• Manage participant engagement: Review invitations and
confirm diverse stakeholder participation.
• Appoint responsibility: Appoint suitable facilitators (with
reserves), and equip them with clear tasks, questions, and
outcome-recording templates.
• Prepare materials: Develop and provide clear resource
materials aligned with the Dialogue’s objectives to support
focused and productive discussions.
Facilitators • Pre-dialogue engagement: Understand the assigned
discussion topics, collaborate with curators and convenors to
ensure diverse stakeholder groups, and coordinate with the
notetakers.
• Craft focused prompts: Develop clear prompt questions to
guide group discussions toward achievable outcomes and
maintain focus, avoiding vague or hypothetical conversations.
• Technical check and familiarization: In 1-2 weeks before
the dialogue events. Review the roles, learn more about the
participants’ backgrounds and cultural contexts, read any
briefing materials and understand the processes. If group
discussions are virtual, check the links carefully to ensure
stable access.
Notetakers • Pre-dialogue engagement: understand the assigned
discussion topics and tasks, coordinate with facilitators and
curators.
• Familiarization: Get familiar with the outcome-recording
templates, understand the process, and ensure the templates
and virtual links (if applicable) are functional.
